Verifone xpi application
Migrating a solution to support EMV chip cards is a long and complicated process. Most processors in Canada/USA are making EMV certification a mandatory requirement for all new application certifications.
Now that Visa, MasterCard and Discover have announced that a liability shift will occur in October 2015 for the USA, the race for resources is on. The capability to engage and complete an EMV project is dependant on having access to knowledgeable people and the appropriate tools.
VeriFone has released a suite of PINPads (Vx810, Vx820, Vx700 and MX8xx) that support a new API called eXtended Programming Interface (XPI). The new XPI interface now supports Visa, MasterCard and Interac EMV chip cards. In addition some of the VeriFone devices also include contactless support.
